Calusa restaurant

My husband and I LOVE this restaurant! We got married at this resort on 2/2/24 !!!!! The food is great and the staff is AMAZING ! I can tell you with certainty this because we are (restaurant savvy ) this is a great one ! We had the privilege to have Tashana Lawson as our waitress Waiter Justin &Debbie and restaurant manager Janeil

We went here for our rehearsal dinner and the morning after our wedding while we stayed at Bakers Cay. They made the celebrations we had so special. The staff was very attentive and celebratory and helped us have a great time. When the sun went down, they had a complimentary champagne toast - it was beautiful! Thank you for making these meals special and great memories for us!

We are staying at a hotel close by, someone had mentioned Calusa so we thought we would give it a try. It was wonderful. I had the Paella and my husband had the Rum Chicken and for dessert we both had Rum and Raisin cake with ice cream (delicious). We didn’t have a reservation but they were so helpful and finding us a table was no trouble. We would definitely recommend.

Justine our waiter was excellent. He was friendly, attentive and very professional. Took out order right away very little waiting after being seated. Reservations are tricky. I did open table but they didn’t come through the receptionist. I called the hotel early to make sure we our reservations since breakfast was an utterly disaster. We decided to try dinner to see if thing would improve, but they didn’t. About the meal I ordered the yellowtail snapper, it was very dry. The side dishes the mushrooms and the spinach were excellent!! I wish I just ordered the sides. I would not recommend the yellowtail here. I had yellowtail the night before at Marker 88 and it was fenomenal!! But here, please skip it. The appetizer was great we ordered the hummus, would recommended it 100% The short ribs were debone, that was interesting. The mashed potatoes consistent was tough, not a smooth and cream. So order the ribs if that is your thing and substitute the sides. My daughter loved her cheese burger. I wished we ordered the started, short ribs no sides, not the yellowtail and ordered the mushrooms and spinach It be it wasn’t for the service, I would give it one star ⭐️ only. The service was 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and the food just 1 ⭐️

We had an amazing dinner at Calusa! Our waiter was attentive and the food was really delicious! They also had a decent wine/cocktail list and we ended up ordering a bottle of bubbles since it was our first night at the resort. We were dining just as the sun was setting and everyone eating there was served a glass of sunset bubbles...a very nice touch! We also came here for breakfast the next day and our food was equally as good.

Walked up to be seated for our reservation, was told we should sit inside because of bugs even after we said we wanted to sit outside to see the sunset, only to see the hostess seat the next 4 parties outside. Fried calamari was soggy, not crispy. The main dishes were good. Wifes scallops were very good. My whole fish was delicious. Banana rum cake dessert was the best of the night. My Bourbons on the rocks were very short pours. Overall experience was such we'd not go back.
